Sustainable Tourism is a form of tourism that recognizes the key role of the local community and its right to be the leader of tourism development and responsible for its own territory. It works indeed to promote a positive interaction among tourism industry, local communities and travelers.
CSS-Ebla with “Centre for Advanced Studies on Tourism” (CAST) of the Univeristy of Bologna Alma Mater Studiorum, signs up an agreement with the goal to organize and reinforce research activities and to spread high training in the cultural tourism field. “CAST” also works together with the Associazione Italiana Turismo Responsabile (AITR), the European Alliance for Responsible Tourism and Hospitality (EARTH) and with the international networks “NECSTour – Network of European Regions for a Sustainable and Competitive Tourism” and UNESCO/UNITWIN “Culture, Tourism, Development” that researches with the program “Sustainable Tourism at World Heritage Sites” of UNESCO.
