Fondazione Santagata, in close collaboration with Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, is launching the pilot program “TERE – Ecological Transition of the Third Sector” to support organisations in their path toward ecological transition.

Context

Following the publication of the national research project 4C – Decarbonisation in the Cultural and Creative Field, Fondazione Santagata, with the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, is initiating a new phase of work aimed at transforming research into concrete action.

The program stems from the awareness that culture must play a leading role in the ecological transition — consistent with its social mission, in response to growing expectations from audiences and stakeholders, to access new funding opportunities, and to strengthen its transformative impact on communities.

Objectives

The program’s overarching goal is to accompany Third Sector organizations on a progressive path toward ecological transition by:

  • integrating decarbonisation principles into strategic and operational models;

  • creating replicable good practices;

  • developing practical tools for monitoring, planning, and reporting;

  • strengthening a local ecosystem of sustainable innovation.

Program Phases

Through an open call for expressions of interest, Fondazione Santagata will select 10 Third Sector organizations based in Piedmont, Liguria, or Aosta Valley, operating in the social, cultural, or environmental fields.

Selected organizations will follow a 6-month program that includes:

  • tailored analysis of the current situation and benchmarking with sector data;

  • development of an ecological transition roadmap integrated into the organization’s strategic plans;

  • access to targeted consulting and tools based on identified needs;

  • ongoing support from the project team;

  • public presentation of case studies and participation in knowledge-sharing events;

  • a financial contribution of €5,000 to cover project-related expenses.

Expected Outcomes

Through the activation of this pilot group, the program aims to:

  • test tools and intervention methods in real contexts;

  • build shared knowledge useful across the sector;

  • encourage the spread of replicable sustainable models;

  • promote long-term cultural change, reinforcing the role of the Third Sector as a driver of social and environmental innovation.
