Fondazione Santagata works on the management plan of the Wold Heritage site “Le Strade Nuove and the system of the Palazzi dei Rolli”  of Genoa, inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage List in 2006.


“Le Strade Nuove and the system of the Palazzi dei Rolli” describes a unique model of a noble residential parcelling in the old town, characterized by a uniform planning and architectural features of the buildings. In this area are placed more than hundred buildings of noble families of the city that are an example of a peculiar social and economic identity that represents the urban architecture of modern age in Europe.


The management plan is developed for the Fondazione per la cultura Palazzo Ducale, and in cooperation with CAST (Center for Advanced Studies in Tourism) and the University of Genoa,


The management plan aims to define new scenarios of development of the site and the historic city centre of the city by identifying appropriate actions of cultural and economic conservation and valorization, in accordance with the recent guidelines of the UNESCO Recommendation on Historic Urban Landscape and of the Report on Culture for Sustainable Urban Development.
