National Culture Strategy Launched, Minister Gonxhja: A New Path for Cultural Policies

Tirana, October 10 – Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, officially launched the National Culture Strategy 2026–2030.

The open forum on the future of culture in Albania took place today at HangArt – Kinostudio. Artists, professionals, and institutional representatives attended and shared ideas and visions for the country’s cultural development.

Gonxhja said the strategy marks the start of a new path for national cultural policy. He added that the process will be comprehensive, building a shared vision for the future of Albanian culture based on the strong foundation established at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports.

He emphasized that culture represents creative, economic, and diplomatic strength. It promotes national identity and positions Albania as a regional hub for creativity.

In collaboration with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and the Santagata Foundation, the strategy aims to strengthen cultural institutions, support artists and the independent scene, invest in cultural infrastructure and national heritage, and create dignified conditions for art as a profession and a sustainable source of livelihood.
