Now in its third edition, in the year of the 50th anniversary of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Program, the project is aimed at involving and training the young inhabitants of the area with regard to issues related to sustainable development and the MaB Program.
The goal of the format is to encourage the bottom-up reactivation of the sustainable local development process initiated with the recognition of the territory as Monviso Transboundary Biosphere Reserve, through: awareness dissemination of the value, the uniqueness and of cultural resources of the Reserve ; the mobilization of girls and boys who have been stimulated to elaborate goals and actions, in the direction of sustainable development; the creation of a network of local operators and institutions, starting from the working group, interested in the construction of a governance functional to the development of new projects.
After the stop of the 2020 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the working group organized the third edition of MaB UNESCO Monviso Youth Camp 2019, with a renewed formula that offers a residential experience and then gives life to the 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 of the Biosphere Reserve.
The goal of this year is to experiment and increase a community of young people who live in the area and want to take care of it, making their voices heard on fundamental issues such as land management and the construction of a sustainable development model.
The activity is aimed at boys and girls between 15 and 18 years old, Italian and French.
The MaB UNESCO Monviso Youth Camp is a project born from the collaboration between Parco del Monviso (Monviso Transboundary Biosphere Reserve manager), Fondazione Santagata for the Economics of Culture and Cooperativa Caracol.
