The meetings that will take place in the 4 Regions involved (Lazio, Campania, Basilicata and Puglia) with the local organizations interested in the nomination of the Appia Regina Viarum to UNESCO’s World Heritage List are promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture in order to prepare the drafting of the Management Plan, which is an integral part of the scientific documentation to request the nomination.
The aims of this week’s on-site tour are:
- widening the knowledge and sharing the contents and the structure of the Management Plan;
- implementing, thanks to the contributions of local stakeholders, the topics, the strategies and the actions that the Plan proposes in order to better conjugate the protection of the universal values of the site with the integrated development of the territories.
Each meeting will consist in the presentation of the nomination project and the Management Plan to the local stakeholders, followed by working tables about heritage conservation and local sustainable development and about the governance for the future heritage management.
