The Second Edition of the Ivrea Hackathon Successfully Concludes
29 October 2025 – More than 70 students from Ivrea’s high schools — Istituto “Camillo Olivetti”, Liceo “Carlo Botta”, and Liceo “Antonio Gramsci” — took part in a day of creativity and collaboration dedicated to imagining the future of the World Heritage Site “Ivrea, Industrial City of the 20th Century.”
As part of HEYIvrea!, the creative hackathon invited students to develop ideas, symbols, and key concepts to shape a renewed vision for the city and its Visitor Centre. Divided into teams, participants worked around three central themes — Culture, Community, and Environment — transforming their reflections into “manifesto codes” presented to the Site Manager, the Municipality of Ivrea, Fondazione Santagata, and Graphic Days.
Their proposals highlighted meaningful directions for the city’s future:
Culture as a driver of social innovation and intergenerational dialogue
Community as an inclusive, participatory, and supportive network
Environment as a shared space to be regenerated through sustainability
The initiative is part of the community development process coordinated by Fondazione Santagata on behalf of the Municipality of Ivrea, within the framework of the update of the World Heritage Site Management Plan.
The “Olivetti Lab” call for ideas remains open until November 24, 2025, inviting schools, associations, and citizens to submit projects that make the site increasingly vibrant, accessible, and community-oriented.
