8 September 2025 – As part of the European project “Culture and Democracy Study and Peer Learning – School/Culture Collaborations for Civic Engagement and Critical Citizenship Education”, we are proud to continue our commitment to promoting culture as a driver of democratic participation and civic awareness.

The European Commission has launched an Open Call for Good Practices on School/Culture Collaborations for Citizenship Education!
This invitation is addressed to those who have developed projects or experiences showing how schools, artists and cultural organisations can work together to foster pupils’ civic engagement, democratic attitudes and readiness to participate actively in democratic life through participatory artistic and cultural experiences.

> Have you carried out this kind of project? Tell us about it!
> Do you know of inspiring initiatives? Share them with us!

We are looking for outstanding examples implemented:

  • in primary schools (upper years, pupils aged 10+) and especially in secondary schools, general or vocational (ISCED 1–3);

  • within and around formal, non-formal and informal education environments.

Share your good practice example through this form by 31 October 2025. Find out more about the Open Call for Good Practices here.

The collected experiences will help inspire new policies and practices across Europe and beyond and will be featured in the Compendium of Best Practices to be published and widely disseminated by the European Commission.

The project is an initiative of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, implemented by its contractor Visionary Analytics in cooperation with KEA European Affairs following an open Call for Tenders.
