4 June 2026 – Fondazione Santagata presents Albania’s National Strategy for Culture 2026–2030 in Tirana, a strategic policy document that recognizes culture as a key driver of the country’s social, economic, and institutional development and supports Albania’s path toward European integration.

The Strategy is the result of an extensive process of research, analysis, and consultation involving public institutions, cultural organizations, professionals, and cultural operators. Through continuous dialogue with national and international stakeholders, the work defines a framework of concrete, measurable, and sustainable actions designed to address the needs of the cultural sector while enhancing and promoting Albania’s cultural heritage.

At the core of the document is the recognition of cultural heritage and contemporary cultural production as essential contributors to quality of life, social cohesion, and international dialogue. The Strategy outlines priorities, objectives, and operational tools to support the growth and strengthening of Albania’s cultural sector in the years ahead.

Fondazione Santagata extends its gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of Albania for its trust and for the constructive dialogue that accompanies every stage of the process, as well as to the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) – Tirana Office for promoting and supporting the project.

Special thanks also go to the researchers, experts, institutions, cultural operators, independent organizations, artists, and professionals from Albania and abroad who contribute their knowledge, experience, and perspectives to the development of the Strategy. Their input makes the document more inclusive, robust, and representative of the challenges and opportunities facing the cultural sector.

Fondazione Santagata is proud to contribute to this important process and looks forward to the implementation phase of the Strategy, with the aim of turning its vision and priorities into concrete actions and lasting results for the future of culture in Albania.
