1 December 2025 – Fondazione Santagata took part in the workshop “Culture and Development – Measuring the Economic Impact of Investing in the Cultural Sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, hosted by the Heritage Commission and organised in collaboration with the Foundation.

The initiative, structured around keynote speeches, technical sessions and working groups, focused on economic methods for assessing the market and non-market benefits generated by investments in culture and heritage, in line with the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Bringing together cultural economists and heritage experts, the workshop examined the application of Cultural Capital Evaluation Methods to support more effective and sustainability-oriented cultural policies.

The thematic sessions, followed by participatory round tables, provided an opportunity to gather data, needs and priorities, helping to define the current context and inform the development of a cultural impact assessment model for Saudi Arabia.
