Fondazione Santagata co-funds and hosts a PhD candidate in the Business PhD programme “Communication, Markets and Society” at IULM University of Milan
15 January 2025 – Fondazione Santagata is actively engaged in promoting an equitable just transition in the cultural sector through research and training initiatives aimed at advancing the decarbonisation of culture.
In this context, the Foundation co-funds and hosts a PhD candidate in the Business PhD programme “Communication, Markets and Society” at IULM University of Milan, supported by the European Union under the Next Generation EU programme.
The research project—building on the groundwork laid by Fondazione Santagata in 2024 with the 4C project Culture and Creative Carbon Cut —aims to develop concrete and scalable solutions to reduce carbon emissions in the cultural and creative sectors. The study focuses on analyzing emissions from these fields, identifying structural challenges, and proposing innovative measures that respect cultural diversity and the unique characteristics of each sector. By contributing to Italy’s carbon neutrality goals for 2050, this project represents a tangible step toward integrating academic research with sustainable practices.
Through this initiative, Fondazione Santagata reaffirms its mission to address climate challenges by developing cutting-edge solutions that merge innovation, culture, and sustainability.
