Fondazione Santagata attends the World Tourism Event (WTE 2026)
15 September 2026 – Tourism today represents a strategic lever for enhancing local areas: not only as an economic driver, but as a key to reinterpreting places and heritage from a sustainable perspective, capable of integrating culture, community and innovation. Sustainable mobility, cultural itineraries and pilgrim routes are increasingly at the heart of this reflection, as keys to a more diffuse development of local territories and to a form of tourism able to enhance heritage in its religious and identity dimension as well.
In this context, the World Tourism Event, taking place on 24 and 25 September in Assisi, offers a valuable opportunity to reflect on these themes and foster dialogue among institutions, operators and communities.
Fondazione Santagata is once again taking part in WTE this year (as an event partner) with two panels co-organized in collaboration with WTE:
- Territories in Motion. Cultural Heritage, Sustainable Mobility and Itineraries for Diffuse Development – Thursday 24 September, 10:00–11:25, Sala Cimabue
- Cultural Itineraries and Religious Tourism: The Pilgrim Route as a Key to Enhancing Cultural Heritage – Friday 25 September, 10:00–11:00, Sala Giotto
The full event programme, currently being finalised, is available at: https://www.wtevent.it/it/programma-2026/
Participation in WTE confirms Fondazione Santagata’s commitment to promoting regenerative tourism models capable of enhancing local territories, engaging communities and strengthening the sustainability of heritage.
