Fondazione Santagata at the international seminar “Embracing uncertainty: climate challenges in historic urban landscapes”
15 May 2026 – Fondazione Santagata takes part in the international seminar “Embracing Uncertainty: Climate Challenges in Historic Urban Landscapes”, held at Sala Vigliano, Castello del Valentino in Turin.
Promoted within the framework of the AGREE project, the seminar aims to foster dialogue between the research community, institutions, and policy-makers on the evolving relationship between cultural heritage and climate adaptation.
The event brings together an international network of researchers, public authorities, heritage professionals, and civic actors to reflect on how historic urban landscapes are increasingly shaped by the uncertainty generated by climate change.
In this context, Alessio Re, Secretary General of Fondazione Santagata, joins the session “Climate Adaptation in Practice I” with a contribution entitled “Advancing a Just Transition through Cultural Heritage”, presenting the experience of the 4C Observatory.
Through sessions combining applied experiences and research perspectives, the programme explores climate adaptation through multiple lenses, including local governance, international cultural programmes, conservation practices, community engagement, spatial analysis, and landscape-based design strategies.
