Fondazione Santagata at the Creatives4Peace Youth Forum in Yaoundé
1 October 2026 – The Creatives4Peace Youth Forum took place in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on 29 and 30 September. Promoted by UNDP, the United Nations Development Programme, it focused on “Culture and Creative Industries to Unlock Youth Potential and Promote Social Cohesion“. The forum brings together about forty participants, including young creators, institutions, international organisations and private-sector partners, and focuses on the role of cultural and creative industries in youth employment, social cohesion and peacebuilding across Africa.
On Wednesday 30 September, Fondazione Santagata for the Economics of Culture takes part with a contribution from Giulia Avanza in the session “Creative Innovation for Social Cohesion: Tech, Digital Platforms & the Fourth Industrial Revolution“. The panel discusses how education systems, industry and technology partners can build accessible learning pathways in the creative and cultural sectors, with particular attention to young women, rural youth and marginalised groups. The aim is to turn creative industries into a driver of economic empowerment and social cohesion.
The forum also gathers input on the preliminary findings of a UNDP study on cultural and creative industries and youth in Africa, and aims to produce a roadmap and recommendations on policy, intellectual property protection and investment in the sector.
This participation reinforces our commitment to promoting culture as a driver of territorial development.
