25 November 2025 – Fondazione Santagata has launched a survey as part of the Horizon Europe project Democracy In Action, a European research initiative exploring how grassroots arts and culture organisations support youth civic engagement, community participation and democratic life across Europe and beyond.
Developed by Fondazione Santagata, the survey aims to capture how these organisations operate, what values guide their work, and how they create spaces where young people can actively participate in civic and democratic processes.
Filling in the survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes. Participation is voluntary, all responses are treated confidentially, and organisations may choose whether to identify themselves.
The deadline for completion is 15 February 2026.
Among the organisations that complete the survey, Fondazione Santagata will select 6 to participate in a series of international networking and capacity-building events in September/October 2026, hosted in North Macedonia and Türkiye. These gatherings will focus specifically on youth engagement through cultural practice.
Selection will be based on organisational profiles and alignment with the scope of the activities.
Democracy In Action is carried out by a consortium of: Leiden University, Fondazione Santagata for the Economics of Culture, Jagiellonian University, Centro de Estudos sobre África e Desenvolvimento, DE/MO Foundation, Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, VibeLab BV, Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal, and the Institute of Public Affairs Foundation.
