A draft of the Management Plan of the Spaç Prison presented in a public hearing in Tirana
May 2nd 2024 – On the occasion of a public hearing organised by the Ministry of Culture of Albania in Tirana, Fondazione Santagata presented a draft of the Management Plan of the former prison of Spaç, realised in collaboration with Cultural Heritage without Borders – Albania.
The work – conceived by a multidisciplinary team of Italian and Albanian professionals, ex-prisoners, cultural managers, professors, and advocacy organisations – includes the definition of a conservation strategy, a detailed action plan for site management, and a business plan.
The project aims to create a bridge between past and future by safeguarding memory and history, enhanching cultural heritage, while creating a sustainable future for Spaç.
