At Fondazione Santagata, we believe that best practices in sustainability are essential for a future that balances culture, nature, and community.

After having assessed our progress in the decarbonisation journey through the research project “4C – Culture and Creative Carbon Cut” we decided to translate the results of our analysis into concrete actions.

Specifically, we have systematised certain practices already in place, such as prioritising rail transport over air travel for all destinations compatible with project timelines and personal needs. Additionally, through the “Robinwood” project, we have launched initiatives to mitigate the impacts largely generated by our travels.

In collaboration with Walden srl, an organization we have been working with for several years, we adopted a portion of the “Serre di Ostana” forest, helping to safeguard 2,000 square meters of woodland. This action represents another step forward in our commitment to preserving the environment as a shared heritage. Thanks to this initiative, we were able to partially offset the Foundation’s emissions for 2024, with the goal of continuing and expanding these efforts in the coming years. We chose a young and local partner, to support their vision linked to responsible forest management and to work at a scale where trust is an added value to the mitigation process.
