On 21 September 2023 at Palazzo Carignano, the Fondazione Santagata per l’Economia della Cultura will organise and moderate a forum to discuss World Heritage management, sustainable development and the intersections between tourism and culture.

Within the framework of the fourteenth edition of the World Tourism Event, which this year is held in Turin, the Fondazione Santagata, a partner of the event, has organised three meetings for tourism and culture professionals.

The first of these moments is a Forum on World Heritage Management and the 2030 Agenda: with the support of Matteo Rosati (UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture) and Carlo Francini (Scientific Coordinator of the Associazione Beni Italiani Patrimonio Mondiale), Alessio Re (Secretary General of the Fondazione Santagata) will moderate a round table discussion with representatives of local and national tourism and of relevant UNESCO sites among its participants.

Key topics of the meeting are the correct use and enhancement of the UNESCO image, the management of mass tourism in World Heritage sites and the search for a balance between the visitor experience and the preservation of the heritage itself.

The meeting will be held in the Sala dei Codici, on the first floor of Palazzo Carignano (Turin), from 2 to 4 PM.
