The Santagata Foundation for the Economy of Culture is joining Abbonamento Musei as a strategic consultant for the SWITCH – Strategies and Tools for Digital Transformation in Culture call, promoted by the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation.

The intervention aims to strengthen Museum Pass’s ability to manage its digital ecosystem in an integrated manner, valuing data as a strategic asset and consolidating the Association’s role as a cultural, relational, and cultural welfare platform.

Context

The SWITCH call from Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo is part of the Create Attractiveness mission, with the aim of supporting digital transformation in the cultural sector through multi-year strategic planning, skills development, and integration with the technology sector.

The second edition of the program (2025–2028) consolidates a model already successfully tested, which promotes data-driven approaches, strategic data management, and the hybridization between culture and technology as levers of sustainability and innovation.

Within this framework, Fondazione Santagata plays an accompanying and facilitating role for three major cultural institutions in Northern Italy, supported in the definition and implementation of their respective Digital Innovation Plans (DIPs) and 18-month executive projects.

Goals

Fondazione Santagata is accompanying Abbonamento Musei on a strategic consulting and organizational facilitation journey, supporting the Association in translating its strategic vision into a sustainable Digital Innovation Plan consistent with the Association’s Strategic Plan.

  • alignment between the Strategic Plan 2025–2028 and the Digital Innovation Plan;
  • definition of project priorities and development trajectories;
  • support for data governance and the construction of data-driven decision-making models;
  • support for the development of a capacity building plan for strengthening the team’s digital skills.

  • enable integrated data management through the design and implementation of a central infrastructure, overcoming the fragmentation of existing digital systems and creating a single source of truth;
  • strengthen data governance by introducing shared models of quality, security, access and use of information, to support strategic planning and impact assessment;
  • optimize and streamline internal processes, reducing manual activities, automating operational flows, and improving the Association’s management sustainability;
  • enhance the subscriber experience by developing more accessible, personalized, and consistent digital services throughout the entire audience relationship cycle;
  • strengthen the relationship with the circuit’s museums, making available data and analytical tools useful for programming, co-design and audience development;
  • develop digital skills and data culture, accompanying the staff on a structured training path;
  • build a replicable model of digital transformation, consistent with the aims of the SWITCH call and transferable to other complex cultural ecosystems.
