Fondazione Santagata is a partner in the “Nega.So 2” project, promoted by the Liberitutti Social Cooperative as part of the “Territori inclusivi” (Inclusive Territories) call for proposals by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. The Foundation is responsible for building an evaluation and monitoring system for socio-cultural enhancement projects. This system is applied to the Dronero case study to measure the impacts and outcomes of cultural activities and guide future development strategies.

Context

The “Nega So” project, promoted under the “Territori Inclusivi” call by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, was created to foster the social and cultural inclusion of citizens of foreign origin and strengthen intercultural dialogue in changing territories.
Following a first phase in Dronero (2021–2022) and a subsequent expansion to Venasca in 2023, the current edition, “Nega So 2,” expands its scope of action and partnership, consolidating an intervention model tested in the field. The second edition of the project is particularly interesting due to the broad involvement of local stakeholders, which has formed a strong local network to counter the social exclusion of citizens with a migratory background. Implementing a cultural-based project with a social purpose creates an ideal scenario for building an evaluation framework for the effects generated.

Objectives

  • Structuring an overall monitoring system to evaluate the results of culture-based social enhancement projects.
  • Observing and evaluating the implementation of the So 2 project to identify its core components, pinpoint elements that could be replicated in other contexts, and further explore the potential of cultural projects for social cohesion.
  • Testing different methodologies to evaluate social impacts, leading to the creation of a single framework.
